MDR 2012 – Smashing Success!

Monster Drawing Rally 2012 was a big success!  Thanks to all the artists, event sponsors, & those who atteneded, we raised over $2000 for Shieffield Place.

We have already started thinking about the fourth annual MDR (most likely the first weekend in March again).  Check back for more details as they become available.  If you are interested in joining the planning committee, participating as an artists or sponsor, email us at monsterdrawingrally@gmail.com.

March 4: Monster Drawing Rally

Women in Design – Kansas City’s 2011 Spring Program is a live drawing and fundraising event featuring local artists, designers, architects and creatives. Last year’s event drew 300+ attendees and gained lots of local publicity!

This event will consist of a one hour shift with approximately 20-25 artists drawing simultaneously. The audience will have the rare opportunity to watch art come to life and purchase completed drawings in a silent auction format. Art will be drawn towards the theme of EMPOWERMENT. There will also be a concurrent raffle with prizes from local businesses.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Synergy Services, a non-profit violence prevention program in Kansas City.   Read the rest of this entry →
