We had a large showing of members at each event, totaling over 75 attendees! At the events we were able to see first hand the latest technology in sustainable, shared lab space at KBA; learned how to promote ourselves and our businesses utilizing the latest media and technology; and we saw the impact of the Kauffman Performing Arts Center on downtown Kansas City. This year we were able to place 90 local high school students at firms to learn about design! Thank you to the Membership Committee members who helped organize the event: Christina Bechtel, Ellen Foster, Terren Hall, Christina McCoy, and Erin Mulligan. Great job, ladies! Also, thank you to all the firms that participated; we couldn't have done it without you! Participating firms include: HMN, Hufft, BNIM, International Architects Atelier, Williams Spurgeon Kuhl Freshnock, Willoughby Design, PGAV Architects, Hoefer Wysoki Architects, BRR, Davison Architecture + Urban Design, Henderson Engineering, Dimensional Innovations, Helix, NSPJ, AECOM, Burns and McDonnell, HNTB and Design Ranch. There was a great turn out and the space had a great energy all evening long. And Synergy Services benefited from a nice monetary amount from the silent auction. I would like to acknowledge and thank Amanda and her whole committee for all their hard work. You put on a great event and certainly helped Women in Design to continue to create a strong presence in the design community. I would also like to thank the Board and Committee Chairs for being at the event and showing their support and excitement.
